What is a Hue Bridge?
The Hue Bridge is a small box (about palm-sized) that connects all your Philips Hue lights and sensors to your home network. It usually comes included with a Hue starter kit or can be bought separately. The Bridge connects to your router with an ethernet cable.
How to connect Hue devices to Optimaatti
1. Make sure the Bridge is on and on the same network
The Hue Bridge must be connected to the same router (same WiFi network) as the phone or computer you use Optimaatti on. The Bridge is on when its LED lights are lit. If the Hue app on your phone works, the Bridge is online.
2. Press the Bridge button
In the Optimaatti app, go to Settings → select "Philips Hue". When the app asks, press the large round button on top of the Hue Bridge. This gives Optimaatti permission to connect — similar to pairing a Bluetooth device.
3. Select devices and start
Optimaatti automatically finds all devices connected to the Bridge. Select which ones you want to control. After this you should see: devices appear in the Optimaatti device list and you can create your first automation.
