We are a Finnish company with a mission to make saving electricity easy and automatic.
How Optimaatti was born
Optimaatti started from a simple need: I wanted to automatically control my home's electrical devices based on electricity prices. I bought a few Shelly relays, wrote the first version of the control logic, and quickly noticed a significant drop in my electricity bill — without any loss in comfort.
When the system proved its worth in my own home, I started thinking whether others could benefit from the same approach. I built a user interface around the service, added support for multiple device ecosystems — Tuya, Philips Hue and Zigbee alongside Shelly — and published Optimaatti for everyone to use.
The service has evolved from a simple timer into an intelligent optimization system that can predict heating demand, leverage solar energy, and adapt to different electricity contracts — from hourly pricing to fixed rates.
Optimaatti is free until the end of 2026. As infrastructure costs grow with the number of users and controlled devices, Optimaatti will become a paid service at the beginning of 2027. Controlling a single device will always be free — we want anyone to be able to try and benefit from smart electricity control without barriers.
