Optimaatti terms in plain language
Short, plain-language explanations for the words you see in the app and the guides. No jargon – just what each one means for you.
- Predictive control
- Optimaatti looks ahead at the coming hours of electricity prices and weather and times your heating and big appliances for the cheapest hours for you.
- Price tier
- The electricity price split into five levels from very cheap to very expensive. Colours show at a glance when to use electricity.
- Spot price
- The hourly market price of electricity. Optimaatti follows it for you – you do not need to watch any numbers.
- Flexible electricity
- A type of electricity contract where the price flexes with usage. Optimaatti uses that flexibility automatically.
- Flexibility
- How much of your home load can move to cheaper hours without losing comfort. The more there is, the more you save.
- Usual use
- An estimate of how much electricity you would use without Optimaatti. Savings are calculated against this.
- Planning period
- How far ahead Optimaatti plans at once – usually the next 1–2 days.
- Device password
- The password your device uses to connect to Optimaatti. Different from your login password.
- Device connection
- How Optimaatti and your devices talk to each other. When the connection works, the device shows up and responds right away.
- Location control
- Your phone location tells Optimaatti whether you are home or away, so heating adjusts automatically.
- Insulation and heat storage
- They describe how well your home keeps heat and how slowly it cools. Optimaatti learns these from measurements on its own.
- EV charging
- Charging your car automatically timed for the cheapest hours without giving up convenience.
