Home in the mobile app
Control your home in everyday life with a single tap: Home/Away, favourites, room lights and temperature, and scenes. Every family member sees only what they need.
Quick guide
- A tap turns a device on or off. A long press opens fine control, such as dimming.
- Adjusting a room’s temperature is always temporary and returns to automatic on its own.
- Add family members under Settings → Household and choose a role for them.

The Home tab
The app opens on the Home tab, which shows the most important everyday things at a glance.
- At the top, the Home/Away choice and whether the state is automatic or set manually
- Favourites: your most used devices, rooms and light groups. If you have no favourites yet, the app suggests some
- Scenes that start with a single tap
- Rooms at a glance: temperature and light status
- Savings, devices and EV charging are on the Energy tab

Rooms and device control
On the Rooms tab you control lights, covers and other devices room by room.
- Tap: on or off. Long press: fine control (brightness, colour or cover controls)
- Curtains and blinds can be opened, closed and stopped
- You can undo the last action with "Undo" for a few seconds
- A device that cannot be reached is shown in grey with how long it has been offline
- Use the star to add a device or room to favourites. Favourites are personal
- If no rooms have been set up yet, the app suggests them from your device names

Room temperature
You can raise or lower a room’s temperature for a while. The override is clearly shown and ends on its own.
- Adjust the target in 0.5 degree steps and choose how long the override lasts (3 hours by default, up to 24 hours)
- Predictive control, heating rules and thermostats follow the override
- "Back to automatic" ends the override immediately
- Temperature control is shown only for rooms that Optimaatti actually heats
- Permanent temperature targets are changed on the Energy tab (Predictive control)

Scenes
A scene controls several devices at once, for example "Movie night" or "Good night".
- Scenes are created and edited in the web app under Rooms
- In the mobile app a scene starts from the Home tab with a single tap
- A scene can also start based on location: in the web scene editor, choose whether it starts on arrival or departure and whose location counts
- A child only sees scenes that concern rooms they are allowed to use

Family members and roles
The owner adds family members under Settings → Household. The role defines what a member sees and can do.
- Adult: controls devices and temperatures and sets Home/Away for the whole home
- Child: sees only the Home and Rooms tabs for allowed rooms. Temperature can be adjusted only within the limits set by the owner (±1 °C by default)
- Viewer: sees the status but cannot control anything
- A member is added with the email address of their Optimaatti account
- In the same view the owner chooses whose location counts for automatic Home/Away
